Tone of voice, or how to say it?

    According to Albert Mehrabian, 38% of total communication consists of tone of voice and intonation, while only 7% is attributed to the words we use, and the remaining 55% is body language. Based on this, there is no doubt about the significant role our tone of voice plays in successful and effective communication. Additionally, psychologists and researchers have long been aware of how much the quality of relationships among cohabitants is influenced by the tone of voice they use when discussing and addressing their problems.

    In a 2015 study, researchers at the University of Southern California recorded hundreds of conversations over two years during marriage counseling sessions. The study concluded that paying attention to our tone of voice could be crucial for the success of our relationships. However, we all know that maintaining family peace can sometimes (or rather, often?) be challenging, especially when we are tired or overwhelmed. During such times, it is even harder to remain calm and not pour out our anger and frustration onto the first person we encounter. But how can we teach our children (and ourselves) to use the appropriate tone of voice? Here are some tips:
