Even for the simplest meal, a basic table setting is necessary, as we don't eat directly from the table with our hands, just as we don't drink from the tap. Therefore, it's not a question that a set table is needed during family meals, and not just because it's practical to have plates and utensils in front of us, but also because it sets the tone for sitting properly at the table and calmly enjoying the meal. This is not only much better for our bodies than hastily grabbing something, but it also uplifts our souls, as it provides an opportunity for conversation. However, on an average day, everyone should have a plate, glass, utensils, and napkin suitable for the type of meal, possibly even a placemat.
